BEFORE YOUR VISIT

  • All of our workshops are designed for complete beginners, as well as those with some experience. Our friendly tutors will guide you step-by-step throughout, so you can simply relax, enjoy the process, and get creative at your own pace.

  • Our potter’s wheel workshops are suitable for ages 7+ due to the equipment size and the focus required. For younger children, we’re happy to welcome them if you book the studio exclusively - private hires are open to all ages!

To support young creators, one parent or guardian may attend free of charge to supervise children under 16 (carers also attend at no cost).

  • We welcome visitors with a wide range of physical, sensory, cognitive, neurodivergent, and mental health needs.

Please see our Accessibility page for full information or feel free reach out to us directly.

  • To ensure all participants have ample space to create comfortably, our workshops are generally limited to booked attendees only.

However, we may accommodate non-participating guests for a £15 studio fee, subject to availability. Kindly email us in advance to confirm.

For paying guests under 16, one parent or guardian may stay free of charge, and carers are also welcome at no additional cost.

  • We don’t serve refreshments unless otherwise stated on the individual workshop page.

You’re welcome to bring a drink in a bottle or lidded cup, but please avoid bringing food.

  • Unfortunately, although we love animals, we’re unable to allow customers to bring pets into the studio, with the exception of registered assistance or guide dogs. This is to ensure the comfort of all guests, as some may have allergies or feel uncomfortable around animals.

On rare occasions, our studio dog Harry Potter may make an appearance — but we always check that everyone is happy with this beforehand!

  • Yes! We’d be delighted to host a private workshop for you, whether it’s a small group or a larger gathering.

    Get in touch below.

  • Comfortable, practical clothing and footwear are best for your workshop.

Aprons are provided, but we do recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy — any clay splashes should wash out easily.

To help keep your belongings safe, we suggest leaving valuables at home where possible.

We also ask that rings, watches, and bracelets are removed before using the potter’s wheel, and that long hair is tied back (please remember to bring a hair tie if needed).

Also if you have longer nails, you may also find it easier to work with the clay if they are trimmed beforehand.

  • We recommend arriving around 5–10 minutes before your workshop start time so you can settle in and get comfortable before we begin.

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in. While we don’t have a dedicated car park, you’ll find free on-street parking along the High Street and nearby roads. If you’re visiting during peak hours, please allow a little extra time to find a spot.

  • Absolutely — you can reach us easily by train or bus:

    • By train: Honeybourne railway station is just a 10‑minute walk from the studio. It lies on the Cotswold Line, with regular services operated by Great Western Railway. Trains run frequently throughout the day and serve a range of destinations: you can travel south‑east toward London Paddington (via Oxford and Reading), or north‑west toward Worcester Foregate Street and beyond. Services also call at Oxford, Moreton‑in‑Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and other stations en route.

    • By bus: Bus route 553 runs between Honeybourne and Evesham, with stops at villages including Badsey and Bretforton. The service operates Monday to Saturday (no Sunday service). Check the latest timetables with Diamond Bus before travelling, as rural services can change.

Both options make it easy to enjoy a car‑free visit to our studio and the North Cotswolds.

YOUR POTTERY & AFTERCARE

  • Yes — You are welcome to keep any pieces you create during your potter’s wheel workshop. Typically, 1–2 pots are included depending on the class booked, and additional pieces are £4 per pot.

They will be carefully boxed at the end of your session so they are easy to transport home safely.

Your pots will still be in their unfired “leather-hard” stage at this point, so they should be left to air dry naturally at home for a few days before decorating.

Once firm, you can refine your piece by gently trimming excess clay with a craft knife and smoothing the surface with a damp sponge. You can then decorate using acrylic or poster paints, and seal with PVA glue or varnish.

Please note: unfired pots are not food- or liquid-safe, but make beautiful decorative pieces.

Should you wish to have anything professionally fired so they can be used for food and drink the cost is £20 per pot.

  • After your workshop, your pieces will go through a careful drying process before being bisque fired in our kiln. They are then glazed and fired again to create a durable, finished ceramic piece.

This process typically takes around 4–6 weeks, depending on studio capacity and firing schedules. You will receive an email as soon as your work is ready for collection.

  • Once your work is ready, we’ll send you a notification by email. Please allow 4–6 weeks from the date of your class for your pieces to be carefully dried, fired, and glazed in our kilns.

You’re welcome to drop in during our advertised collection times—no need to email in advance. Please click here for full details.

  • We use a high-quality stoneware clay, which is durable and suitable for both functional and decorative ceramics.

If you are arranging to have your work fired elsewhere, the firing range of our clay is between 1120°C and 1280°C.
