ABOUT US

Nestled on the edge of the beautiful North Cotswolds, Honeybourne Pottery is an independent, family-run studio led by husband-and-wife potters Alan and Annabel Cusack.

Alan and Annabel took over the pottery in 2015, continuing the legacy started by Annabel’s parents in 2001. They’ve since grown the studio steadily, modernising and expanding it into a light-filled, dynamic yet restful space where people can slow down, learn and connect through clay.

At the heart of Honeybourne Pottery is a genuine love of teaching. Through structured, hands-on workshops and courses, Alan and Annabel share traditional pottery skills in a way that feels clear and approachable. They focus on helping people build confidence in both wheel throwing and hand building, whether it’s someone’s very first time working with clay or they’re returning to develop existing skills. Everyone is supported at their own pace in a calm, encouraging environment.

Voted Best Workshops in the Cotswolds, recognised with nine TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards since 2016 and backed by hundreds of five-star reviews, Honeybourne Pottery is a well-regarded studio for pottery workshops in the North Cotswolds, known for its calm, supportive approach to learning and making

Between studio life and family adventures with our two young girls and pup Harry, we create pottery for our Cusack Ceramics collection, made with simple, clean silhouettes for everyday living.

Each piece is wheel-thrown or hand-built in our Cotswolds studio, using high-fired stoneware clay and finished with our own glazes. Every piece is made entirely by hand, embracing the slow, mindful process that makes ceramics so special.

FAQs

  • All of our pieces are food-safe unless otherwise noted. They are also microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. However, to ensure their longevity, we recommend handwashing and avoiding sudden temperature changes or uneven heating. Glossy finishes are our most durable option, while matte surfaces develop a lovely patina with use. Every piece tells a story - yours to write through years of shared meals and memories.

As with any handcrafted piece, our work is individual and unique - glaze variations, subtle size differences, and organic forms are not flaws, but the beautiful signature of handmade craftsmanship.

  • Yes! Simply select the "Pickup" option at checkout and drop us a message to arrange a convenient collection time.

  • The slow, multi-step process of making pottery means each piece takes 4-6 weeks to complete from start to finish. As a result, we release small batches of work every few months.
