weekly Potter's Wheel classes
Our pottery throwing classes are open to adults and A-level students, from complete beginners to those with more experience. With a maximum class size of 10 students, we are able to ensure plenty of one to one tuition. Our teaching approach is friendly and informal. We provide comprehensive demonstration and tutoring on the potter's wheel and basic hand-building techniques. Students are given the freedom to explore techniques or projects at their own pace.
Classes are run over a schedule of 10 weeks. We ask for full payment upfront for 8 classes which gives you the flexibility to choose which sessions suit you. However students are very welcome to top up and pay individually for the extra classes and attend the whole 10 week term. All materials and firing & glazing costs are included in the course fee. Once you have joined, students are offered priority of place for the following block of classes if they wish to continue. To be fair to all our students, classes are non-transferable or refundable.

Independent Studio Time
We offer open studio time for people to work on personal projects and practise independently. You will have access to the studio and use of all our equipment. We do not offer formal instruction so students need to have a basic pottery or sculpting skill level (preferably acquired by undertaking a block of classes with us) . Studio time is charged at £10 per hour. Materials and firing costs are not included. We also sell 12.5kg bags of white clay for hobbyists wishing to create pieces of work at home at a cost of £15 per bag.
