CORPORATE TEAM BUILDING

Corporate team-building strengthens trust, encourages communication and increases collaboration. Our pottery workshops provide a brilliant hands-on, team building exercise which encourages participants to interact and work together. You don't need any artistic skill in order for this to be enjoyable and successful. It's very rewarding for the whole team at what can be achieved.

Everybody can do it and participants are always filled with a huge sense of achievement. Workshops can be undertaken at the pottery studio or at a venue of your choice. We will discuss your aims for the session with you and can tailor the workshop to reflect this if required.

Should you have any addition requests/needs please call us on 07900208550 to discuss or get in touch using our Enquiry Form.

OPTION 1 - POTTER’S WHEEL TASTER CLASS

Learn a new skill and take part on our corporate potter’s wheel taster class. The workshop begins with a full demonstration of the pot throwing process, given by one of our expert potters. You will learn the 5 basic steps in making a pot, from centering, opening out and pulling up the walls of your pots, using specialist tools. Then its your turn to get hands-on and have fun practising your pottery skills. Starting out, pots tend to be super wobbly and often collapse but it’s all part of the enjoyment and the normal learning curve of a potter! As a team you can create as many pots as you wish on the session, using an unlimited supply of clay. Team challenges can be incorporated in the session, encouraging participants to work together and collaborate in creative ways.

This workshop is good for small groups, as you'll each have your own potter's wheel for the duration. Or larger groups (up to 20 people) can share the 10 wheels switching between spectating, taking photos and getting messy.

OPTION 2 - COLLABORATIVE CLAY MODELLING

This two hour session works particularly well with groups of all sizes (8-20) people. Following a demonstration on how to get started, participants are split into smaller groups. Each group is assigned a word or concept to brainstorm, with the theme usually based around your company values. Everybody works on designing and making an individual tile as well as a collaborative team tile which everyone has had a hand in making. Decorative slips are used to add colour to the tiles bringing your designs to life. Once complete, all the tiles from each team are brought together and each group is encouraged to present their ideas to the others in open discussion which concludes the workshop.

The work is then left at the studio to be fired and given a clear glaze. The tiles are linked together and ready approx. 6 weeks later. Once installed at your place of work, the tile masterpiece serves as a permanent reminder of what can be achieved through effective teamwork.

TESTIMONIALS

"Massive thanks from all of us here at Little Soap Company for yesterday afternoon. We really enjoyed ourselves- it was the perfect fun way to spend some time together away from the madness of an office environment!"  Anna, Little Soap Company

"I took my management team out to Honeybourne Pottery for a teambuilding session this week. We were warmly welcomed by Annabel with a cup of coffee. I had described to Annabel over the phone, the type of piece I wanted the team to create. It was a pleasant surprise to find Annabel had knocked a miniature version of what I described to give the team an idea of what an earth to do! She guided us along the way and was on hand when we had questions. A great afternoon out!!"  Simon, Nandos
