Potter's Wheel Half & FULL Day Workshops
Learning to throw pots is immensely satisfying. We offer half & full day classes suitable for the complete beginner and those who wish to dig a little deeper to expand their technical knowledge and throwing skills.
After a welcome tea or coffee, you will be given a detailed demonstration on the potter's wheel followed by one-to-one tuition. We encourage students to progress at their own pace with as little or as much guidance as required. Places are kept to a maximum of 6 people to ensure plenty of help and you'll each have your own potter's wheel for the duration of the workshop.
Those booking on to the full day workshop will progress in the afternoon to larger amounts of clay which will enable you to make bigger pieces and further experiment. Later, once you're finished on the wheel, you will select your favorite pieces to decorate using coloured slips and attach handles/motifs. They will be left at the pottery to be fired, glazed and fired again. Extra pots can be decorated and left for firing and glazing at a cost of £10 per pot. Or they can simply be bisque fired at £4 per pot.
